Harmonia Kaleidoscope Phase 6 | A Trip to New Asia College
On March 30, 2023, the Harmonia College Office and the SBM Office orchestrated an exciting visit to New Asia College, CUHK, accompanied by Harmonia Volleyball Team and the Presidium of HRSA. The visit commenced with a stimulating meeting where both parties exchanged their innovative development models, organizational structures, and vibrant college cultures. Building on the momentum of the fruitful meeting, the gracious New Asia College extended a warm invitation for the visiting group to embark on a comprehensive tour of their captivating campus.
To further ignite the spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition, a thrilling volleyball match was meticulously arranged between Harmonia Volleyball Team and the host college. To culminate the visit on a truly delightful note, a sumptuous dinner featuring an array of delectable local cuisine was thoughtfully arranged. This exquisite setting provided the perfect backdrop for the participants to engage in captivating conversations, fostering meaningful connections, and forging lifelong friendships.
Harmonia Kaleidoscope Phase 7 | A Trip to Shu Ren College
On April 15th, 2023, the Harmonia College Office organized a visit to Shu Ren College, Southern University of Science and Technology, accompanied by the talented badminton team and representatives of student organizations from Harmonia College.
The visit commenced with a brief introduction to Shu Ren College at their cultural wall, where the participants had the opportunity to gain a glimpse into the college's history and values. Subsequently, a meeting was held between the representatives of both colleges to share and discuss their respective development models and practices. The visit concluded with a friendly badminton match between the colleges, showcasing the skill, agility, and sportsmanship of the players.
Harmonia Kaleidoscope Phase 8 | The Beauty of Chinese Jade
On April 28, 2023, guided by Dr. Lv Shitu, an affiliated faculty member of the College, Harmonia Kaleidoscope ventured to the Qi Art Museum in Yantian District, immersing themselves in the captivating allure of jade. Stepping into the venue, students were captivated by an array of jade artworks, including sculptures, ornaments, Buddhist statues, cabbage-shaped carvings, dragons, and contemporary jewelry. The exhibition not only showcased the exquisite beauty of jade but also provided insights into the entire process of transforming raw stones into finished masterpieces. During the enlightening presentation led by Dr. Lv, attendees also had the privilege of engaging in a thought-provoking exchange with Mr. Chen Gangmin, the visionary founder of the Qi Art Museum.
Harmonia Kaleidoscope Phase 9 | A Visit to the University of Macau
On June 15, 2023, led by the Harmonia College Office and a college warden, college student assistants and representatives from college student organizations embarked on a two-day journey to Macau.
The first stop was at the Mok Ian Ian Fong Lo Pak Seng College and Stanley Ho East Asia College at the University of Macau. During the symposium, both parties engaged in a fruitful exchange of ideas, sharing their respective development profiles, educational philosophies, and cultural characteristics. Afterward, the delegation proceeded to the sports hall at the University of Macau, where they participated in friendly table tennis and badminton matches. The shared experience of engaging in sports together fostered meaningful connections and friendships between the two Colleges.
The second part of the journey focused on exploring Macau's historical and cultural aspects. The delegation visited the iconic Ruins of St. Paul's and the Macao Maritime Museum, obtaining a deeper appreciation for Macau's development trajectory and its significant maritime heritage. The trip provided a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their horizons, deepen their cultural understanding, and forge lasting memories.
Harmonia Kaleidoscope Phase 10 | A Trip to Singapore
On July 1, 2022, the teachers and students of Harmonia College embarked on a captivating three-day trip to Singapore. During their visit, they had the privilege of exploring renowned educational institutions such as the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. This provided a valuable opportunity for Harmonia College to strengthen inter-college collaboration, deepen their understanding of the collegiate system, and gain insights into diverse educational philosophies within different contexts.
In addition to the university visits, the group also had the chance to explore other notable landmarks in Singapore. They visited the Singapore Supreme Court, immersing themselves in the legal system and observing the workings of the judicial system in the country. Furthermore, they explored the Housing & Development Board (HDB), gaining firsthand exposure to Singapore's unique approach to urban planning and public housing.
This trip not only broadened the horizons of Harmonians but also allowed them to experience Singapore's rich history and culture. By delving into the educational institutions, legal system, and urban development, the participants gained a comprehensive understanding of Singapore's multifaceted society.
