In the exciting atmosphere of a new school year, Harmonia College organized a series of welcome events to warmly embrace the incoming freshmen of 2023.

Part 1

The festivities commenced with the highly anticipated 2023 Harmonia College Welcome Ceremony, which took place on the afternoon of September 1. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Zhu Shiping, Vice President of CUHK-Shenzhen, who delivered a heartfelt welcome speech to the enthusiastic 2023 Harmonia freshmen. Prof. Ye Lixin, the Master of Harmonia College, and Prof. Ling Han, the college warden representative, also took the stage to extend their warm greetings and offer valuable advice on various aspects of university life.

Following the welcome speeches, the Annual Award Ceremony took place, honoring outstanding achievements and contributions by Harmonia College students. Adding to the vibrancy of the event were three captivating student performances,  showcasing the diverse talents and creative expressions of Harmonia College students.

As the event drew to a close, a group photo was taken, capturing the joyous faces of the 18-year-old freshmen. This collective snapshot served as a memento of the memorable occasion, symbolizing the beginning of their exciting journey at Harmonia College.

Part 2

On the evening of September 4, 2023, Harmonia College organized the highly anticipated Club Fest, an engaging platform for freshmen to discover and connect with various student organizations available at Harmonia. Representatives from various student organizations, including sports teams, artistic and musical groups, and many more, set up booths at the Little Square of Harmonia College, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere. Each booth was thoughtfully designed to engage the freshmen through interactive games and detailed introductions, providing them with a firsthand experience of the clubs' offerings.

The vibrant event not only facilitated the recruitment of new members but also helped our freshmen explore their interests and actively contribute to building a vibrant College culture.

Part 3

Drizzling rain didn't stop the Harmonia community from pressing forward with its last Welcome Event—an ice-breaking event in Jiao Xia Camp near the University on September 10. The event aimed to foster camaraderie and team spirit among the freshmen while providing an opportunity for them to engage with college student organizations and tutors.

Freshmen were divided into teams and challenged to participate in various riveting activities. Over the course of two hours, the teams enthusiastically competed, striving to outperform their peers and showcase their teamwork skills. After an intense and exciting game session, the fastest eight teams were announced as the winners. Additionally, three dance performances were also organized, captivating the audience and adding a touch of entertainment to the day's proceedings.

Despite the drizzle, the event was a resounding success, which facilitated interaction and bonding among the freshmen and created lasting memories and a sense of belonging within the Harmonia community.
