Deviating from Halloween’s chilling tradition, the College held a warm baking workshop where professional bakers guided students to make pumpkin pie and cupcakes from scratch. While working together on the adorable desserts, the participants grew closer and enjoyed friendly banter in a relaxing and delightful atmosphere.

An art teacher was invited to teach at the Sunday Painter Workshop. She first explained how to analyze composition and proportion in a painting. After practicing themselves, participants grew a deeper appreciation for oil painting’s uniqueness in terms of brilliant color, creamy blending, versatile texture, etc.

Ravishing roses, green eucalyptus leaves, unique balloon flowers, and cheerful white daisies brightened the college activity room, where a professional florist introduced various captivating seasonal flowers to our students. After comparing the differences between Western and Eastern style floral arrangements, she also gave several tips to revive dying flowers. Following her guidance, the participants crafted their color-infused bouquets, adding a pop of color to dorm rooms.

Consultants from the CDC helped students figure out their interests, personality traits, and desired work environment through a game called an island of interest, where participants were asked to choose an island out of six options to vacation for three months or live for a lifetime. The consultants also introduced John L. Holland’s six personality types and analyzed how each type related to the corresponding occupation, setting the students up for success in their career choice.

From warm-up excises like leg-press and split to intermediate movements -- Battement Tendu and Releve, to the end pose Pas Saute, Prof. Yang Nihong from the Shenzhen Arts School broke down ballet moves, positions, and poses for fourteen Harmonia ballerinas and patiently helped the beginners fix their mistakes.
