Harmonia Workshop 6 | Western Dining Etiquette Class

Catered to college students and teachers who would like to enhance their confidence and charm in high table dinners, this workshop focused on western dining etiquette, social etiquette, and smart casual in elegant style for premier social occasions. Mr. Dan Fournier, a professional B2B trainer, led the participants to brainstorm the differences between western and eastern dining etiquettes, and articulated western-style table manners and the basics of wine tasting with illustration pictures. The workshop instilled the idea into the participants’ minds that eating is more than a necessity for human beings, but a ritual of extending respect and courtesy toward our fellow man.

Ms. Liu Changhai, a certified Hatha Yoga instructor, started the class by introducing the benefits of Hatha Yoga, then led the participants to practice a well-rounded yoga sequence that included various poses for flexibility, balance, stress relief, and muscle-strengthening. Ms. Liu also shared how yoga had transformed her from a frail teenage girl to a spirited instructor, helping improve her health and well-being in the long run.

Harmonia Oceania Studio held its first-ever workshop to help students figure out what makes a beautiful high-quality photograph. They explained that strong composition would move a viewer’s eyes throughout a print logically and pleasingly, and could be achieved by well-placed subjects, light, lines, patterns and even colors. Regarding post-production, a step where beginners often go overboard, the Studio introduced basic skills to adjust sharpness, contrast, highlights, etc. and recommended several online learning platforms to the audience.
Harmonia Workshop Phase 9 | Harmonia College Coffee Inn -- Special Coffee Workshop

Harmonia College Coffee Inn held its first activity featuring special coffee. Baristas invited students to taste different varieties of coffee beans, and explained how they differ in taste, growing conditions, and price. During the activity, students were guided to tailor coffee recipes to their preferences using coconut milk, vanilla, chocolate jam, etc., topped with cocoa powder, Oreo crunches, marshmallows, and mini buns to upgrade the drinks.

Ms. Xia Yijia, a Resident Tutor of Harmonia College, introduced Western dining and social etiquette, and dress codes to the participants, preparing them for the upcoming high table dinner.
